Dieter Jaenicke appointed as new Director of internationale tanzmesse nrw


 The board of nrw landesbuero tanz e.V., the umbrella organisation of internationale tanzmesse nrw, announced that Dieter Jaenicke, Artistic Director of HELLERAU - European Center for the Arts Dresden, will become the new Director of internationale tanzmesse nrw!

As a very experienced curator, festival manager and artistic director, he will be a great enrichment for Tanzmesse and its festival programme. Starting June 2017, Dieter Jaenicke will be involved in the preparation of internationale tanzmesse nrw 2018. After finishing his engagement as Artistic Director of HELLERAU in August 2018, he will take over the artistic direction of internationale tanzmesse nrw 2020. He will further develop the network opportunities within North Rhine-Westphalia and cooperations with the international dance field as well as curate a high-quality dance festival in North Rhine-Westphalia for international professional visitors and the local audience.
As the current Artistic Director of HELLERAU, Dieter Jaenicke can draw back on very diverse experiences in the dance field as well as in the cultural field in general, e.g. as founder of the festival Tanztheater International Hannover, Artistic and Managing Director of Internationales Sommertheater Festival Hamburg, Curator for Carlton Dance Festival, and festival Boticário na Danca in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, Festival Director in Aarhus as well as as Organiser of the World Culture Forums 2004 and 2006.
With his network in the international dance field, Dieter Jaenicke is the excellent choice for this important position.
