Application for girls and boys aged 14 to 15 seeking admission to the 1st year of the Professional Stage Dance Programme in Classical Dance at Zurich Dance Academy
Our Advanced Studies curriculum develops the skills and techniques required for professional stage performance. In addition to intensive dance training, students also take various theory subjects.
The professional dance training scheme at Zurich Dance Academy (taZ) is equal to an apprenticeship and leads to a Federal Certificate of Proficiency (EFZ). Professional training in classical dance takes approximately between three years of full-time study. Admission is open to young dancers from the age of 15/16. Students are expected to graduate at the age of 19. The programme involves daily training sessions, from Mondays to Saturdays.
Our two annual gala performances (Ballet Workshop and Fussspuren) provide advanced students with an ideal opportunity for gaining first-hand stage performance experience.
In accordance with their apprenticeship agreement, students entering their advanced studies undergo a three-month trial period. In exceptional cases, this period may be extended to six months.
To be promoted to the next academic year, students are required to pass their mid-year and end-of-year examinations.
